As of April 19, 2022, masks are optional for children and adults at the Granville Parents Co-op Preschool (GPCP). This policy is subject to change at any time, contingent on guidance from the CDC, the Licking County Health Department, and Granville's current COVID-19 case rate. If infection numbers increase, we will evaluate reinstating the mask mandate.
School Protocol for COVID-19:
GPCP uses layers of protection inside our classroom, including industrial air purification, required covid-19 vaccination for all parent helpers, a touch-free handwashing sink, professional weekly classroom cleaning, symptom monitoring, and increased cleaning protocols for parent helpers.
Indoor masking is optional at GPCP for those ages two years and older (all children and adults), regardless of vaccination status, as long as Covid-19 Community Transmissions Levels are low or medium.
If anyone in your immediate family experiences a positive COVID-19 test, please contact your child's teacher immediately so we as a school can make any actions or precautions as necessary.
Confirmed Child Positive COVID-19:
Test Option: Positive child must stay home for full five days after testing and can return to school on day 6 with a negative covid test
Non-Test Option: Positive child must stay home for the full 10 days from symptom onset and can return to school on day 11 as long as symptoms have resolved
Confirmed Parent/Immediate Family Positive COVID-19:
A child must stay home for five days following a positive test OR onset of symptoms from the most recent family member and may return to school on day six as long as no symptoms have presented.
The positive test begins as Day 0
The onset of symptoms without a test starts on Day 0 (in the event of a positive family member test)
Please note that symptoms of COVID-19 may include: Fever, vomiting, coughing, congestions, lethargy, etc.
Please test or use careful judgment and keep a child home in the event of illness or other cold-like symptoms.

Being part of a cooperative preschool allows parents to engage directly with their child’s early education. While our certified teachers develop all curricula and teach all classes, each co-op family takes an active and hands-on approach to activities in the classroom and beyond.
From serving on the voluntary board of directors to being the “parent-helper” once or twice a month, co-op families participate in a vibrant educational community. Many parents find that they gain insight about their child intellectually, emotionally and socially, because they are able to observe their child first-hand during school activities.
Our families repeatedly articulate that one of the major reasons they are grateful they joined our cooperative preschool is because of their involvement in the classroom and the friendships that develop between families. In addition to gaining an emotional support system, families can also benefit financially, as cooperative preschools tend to be less expensive than traditional preschools.
As a cooperative, we truly work together to craft a nurturing preschool environment for our children. We take an active role in their education at a critical time in their development. And because our curriculum is play-based, our children become well-prepared for kindergarten while having fun with their friends.
